“Looking up an owner’s manual for Big Man.” (which is what they call my dad)

“Why?”

“Because he can’t figure out how to change the ringer volume on his phone.”

“Big Man can’t figure that out?  Mom, I think he may need more than an owner’s manual. All he has to do is push the buttons on the side of the phone”.

“Well” I say, smiling…”Those buttons don’t seem to work.  He can’t find it in his settings either.”

So he says (pointing out the very obvious) “Well, if the buttons on the side of his phone don’t work then he just needs to get a new phone.  That means it’s broken.”

I just kind of laugh him off…then I hear him grumbling:

“What’s wrong with people anyway?  Can’t they just make stuff that works anymore?  I’m tired of stuff breaking and someone needs to tell these people how to make stuff that doesn’t break!”
